  • Description:

Traditional Japanese Tatami mat flooring. These straw mats are often found in traditional style japanese rooms. I originally used this in a dojo scene.

The dimensions of each floor panel is exactly 2:1, twice as long as wide. Thi s makes it easy to create different floor patterns by snapping panels together. Also each panel is made with 3 quads, the long sides have a border and having the border on a separate quad makes it easier to customize.

All of the te xtures were drawn entire by me. The straw was hand draw in gimp based on referen ce photos. The border pattern was created in inkscape as an original design bas ed on the styles of patterns seen in reference photos. There is also a subtle f abric texture on the border which is from a photo I took of a piece of fabric.< /p>

Update (Aug.14,2014): Corrected the rotation of the straw texture and add ed additional border patterns for customization.
